Where do you start with making work about mental health?
Well, this is really easy. The first place that I always start when making work about mental health or actually about anything is I ask myself, ‘Am I ready to make this thing? Am I ready to begin this journey? Am I ready to tell this story? Am I ready to open myself up in this way?’

My name is Georgia, and I’m the project assistant who holds most of the communication with the young women in Imagining Futures. I know first hand how important the arts are as a tool of expression and to support mental health.

Brixton House has been awarded £250,000 as part of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure they have a sustainable future, the Culture Secretary has announced today.

Due to COVID-19 the start date of Year Two delivery was delayed. The second year of weekly workshops will now run from September 2020 – June 2021 at Theatre Peckham and Mountview Drama School in Peckham.
