Debris

16 July-17 July

Tom and Kaia don’t agree on much about their breakup… especially not the play Kaia’s written all about it.

Cordolium Productions present

Description

Three glasses of wine deep, you find a play your ex wrote about you. It’s £8.99 on Amazon Prime. You buy it. You’ve got notes.

Exes Tom and Kaia reunite for the first time in two years, brought together by the success of Kaia’s new play based on their failed relationship. What starts as a confrontation quickly spirals into a surreal rewriting of Kaia’s script by Tom, with two different narratives of what went wrong between them battling for centre stage. As the lines between fiction and reality blur in this play-within-a-play, the audience is left to decide whose version of events is the truth.

Debris is a bittersweet love letter to the messiness of young love, the pain of heartbreak and the complexities of growing into who we are, questioning the nature of truth, memory and the stories we tell to make sense of the absurdity of it all. Balancing humour with heart, prepare to follow the tumultuous ups and downs of dating as a twenty-something in London.
