Henrique J Paris exhibits a multimedia installation centred around Black diasporic memory and modes of occupancy. The framework digests a chronological chain of events following through a family archive. Promising artist from South London, Henrique J Paris proposes a juxtaposed meditation amongst domestic aesthetics and public operations – drawing on questions across permanence/impermanence; the forgotten and the remaining source(s).
Henrique J. Paris is a transdisciplinary artist whose research observes ideas of personal space(s) in relation to colonialism and epistemicide – investigating how “desensitisation” performs through public forces while his works articulate private subjects, interested in sensitising quotidian allegories in counter-colonial grammar. Henrique’s approach is often site-specific and takes corporeality as a starting point. Using design, multimedia installations and performance.
