‘Saltar’ is a programme of video art made by CASA and CuatroxCuatro in the Yucatan in June 2022. Funded as part of the British Council’s international collaboration, a collective of artists shared skills and ideas to create three films. The idea stemmed from the post-lockdown rise in anachronic gendered relationships upon which the idea of SALTAR is to throw concepts of gender from within the home into the natural world. These films have been finished just days before our presentation and will go on to have a future life as part of a wider exhibition of multidisciplinary works. As per our commitment to the creative process, we are excited to share work that has been so freshly finished alongside long-standing work.
