About Young Associates
Young Associates is an exciting programme for emerging creatives aged 18–26 to explore a broad range of roles across theatre and live events.
Running from September 2026 – May 2027, you’ll develop skills in writing, directing, production, creative management and collaborative projects, supported by industry professionals and peer mentors.

Sessions take place every Thursday, 7pm–9pm, alongside occasional weekend and weeknight productions, workshops and events.
Programme dates:
Term 1: Thursday 24 September – Thursday 17 December
Term 2: Thursday 7 January – Thursday 4 February
Term 3: Thursday 18 February – Friday 23 April
You must be available for all relevant programme dates.
Your audition
Your audition will be led by acclaimed theatre director Philip J Morris and is an opportunity for us to get to know you, your creativity and what you hope to bring to the Young Associates programme.

What to expect?
There’s nothing to prepare in advance. The audition will include:
- A movement segment
- A creative writing segment
- A performance segment
- Collaborative activities where we’ll see how you work with others
- A chance for us to get to know you, your individuality and what you bring to the room
The audition will be led by Philip J Morris, Director and Trybe House Artistic Director, alongside a Young Associate alumnus, Creative Pastoral Lead and Creative & Civic Programme Manager.
Come as yourself
We want to see your individuality, so please don’t wear all black. Wear something that feels like you. Please bring water and, if you can, wear comfortable shoes you can move in – trainers are recommended. Be kind, be open and, most importantly, be yourself. This isn’t about getting everything ‘right’. We want to create a space where you can have a go, be curious, meet other people and show us what makes you you.
