This year, we’re launching a brand new series of interviews with our 2026 Housemates. To kick off the series, we sat down with writer and actor, Razak Osman, as he presents his hilarious and touching autobiographical play Tube Chronicles. From rehearsing lines and dancing at the station barriers to the madness of the night tube rush, we ask Razak how he juggles his dreams with his 9-to-5.
Tube Chronicles is all about keeping the dream alive. How do you stay motivated to pursue your dreams?
Honestly? Pure and intense passion. Acting isn’t just something I do, It’s the one thing I’ve never stopped working at and fighting for. Also knowing I’ve already worked at some of my bucket list theatres and on TV. That’s proof to myself that this is actually possible. Those things remind me to keep going whenever it gets tough, and trust me it gets tough!
What’s your favourite tube line?
The Victoria line should be everyone’s favourite tube line.
Would you rather: the Overground or Superloop?
Overground every time.
Why did you set the show during the night shift?
Firstly, because that’s when I work but also because it’s when the Underground turns into a different world.
Tell us your wildest story from the Underground…
It involves, alcohol, a shark wetsuit and vomit. Book to see Tube Chronicles for part 2.
What’s the best time to travel?
10am on weekday, after the rush hour, off peak prices, when the cool creatives are out

What are you most excited about for Housemates Festival 2026?
Getting to perform my own work at Brixton House and getting to see people’s reactions to it.
If you could give one piece of advice to anyone juggling their dreams with their 9-to-5, what would it be?
Keep grinding at your dreams and try to control the things you can control. Go to that class, write that thing, keep going to see work to get inspired.
