William Holloway has tried everything to end his life. Now he’s at Goodbye — London’s first assisted suicide clinic — and all that stands between him and a dignified death is a receptionist called Vivi, a mountain of paperwork, and something neither of them expected.

A darkly comic play exploring survival, love and despair in an encounter between a patient who can’t live, a receptionist who can’t die and an AI that can’t do either.

Content warnings: References to suicide, suicide attempts, self-harm, grief, depression and infant death.

Alejandra Chamorro Cuevas is a Colombian writer, actress and theatre maker. Co-founder of the Bogotá-based theatre collective Círculo Colectivo, she has worked across theatre and film in Colombia, developing a voice that is distinctly her own — sharp, funny and deeply human.

Her debut play Goodbye, has had three sold-out seasons in Colombia, a run at the National Theatre of Colombia, and was voted Audience Favourite at the ESO-VI Awards. The play is forthcoming from Planeta Editorial, one of Latin America’s leading publishers.

Her writing lives in the space between tragedy and comedy, using dark humour and intimate storytelling to explore contemporary social themes and question the boundary between the individual and the collective. Alongside her creative work, she develops pedagogical and research processes around improvisation.

Mónica Lopera is a Colombian actress and producer based in London, where she has lived for nearly two decades. With over 25 years of experience across film, television and theatre, she has built an extensive international career spanning both Spanish and English language productions.

Her screen credits include the leading role in The Hijacking of Flight 601 (Netflix), Killing Eve, Borgia, Frontera Verde, The Adventures of Paddington and Thomas & Friends. An award-winning actress, she has established herself as one of Colombia’s most versatile and internationally recognised talents.

A graduate of Humanities and Creative Writing, Mónica translated Goodbye into English and produces the play’s UK production — bringing together her deep understanding of both languages, cultures and the craft of storytelling.

Samuel Anderson is a British actor and producer born in Birmingham, who trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) in London. He originated the role of Crowther in Alan Bennett’s The History Boys at the National Theatre, reprising it in the Broadway production, international tours and the 2006 film adaptation directed by Nicholas Hytner.

His television credits include Danny Pink in Doctor Who — for which he was voted Best Male Guest Star by readers of Doctor Who Magazine — Fingers in Gavin & Stacey, Emmerdale, Trollied, the Netflix series Another Life, The Lady in the Van, Gunpowder Milkshake, and the BBC comedy Amandaland.

Miguel Torres Umba is a Colombian director based in London whose work spans large-scale immersive productions, international touring theatre and screen-based projects.

His credits include Rumble in the Jungle Rematch, Terminal 1 at Glastonbury, and a decade of creative collaboration with Secret Cinema. He has also worked with Gecko Theatre, Les Enfants Terribles, Disney Imagineering and Paramount Studios.

Miguel’s signature is work that moves audiences — emotionally, physically and politically — championing diverse voices through bold, visceral visual storytelling. Goodbye marks his first collaboration with Alejandra Chamorro Cuevas and their first joint production in the UK.
