I AM – One Of Many

10 February-26 February

A poetic reflection of memory loss unpacked through an Afro-Futuristic lens.

LULA.XYZ in association with Brixton House present

Description

By LULA.XYZ

Time is running out. Father’s dementia is stealing his past, her heritage, and their shared identity. As his memories fade, so do her connections to her roots.

A sharp, unfiltered, poetic reflection of memory loss and displacement across generations unpacked through a Habesh-Futuristic lens.

This is the first offering from an artist dubbed as “The Future of New Storytelling”, it offers a window into a creative practice from the pioneering practitioner of the MiMU Gloves. Weaving live music, visuals and light into one seamless performance, LULA.XYZ asks: when you’ve left everything behind for something better, and it isn’t — what next? When all you have is memory, and memory is fading — who are you?

Content warnings: Contains references to memory loss and racism.
