Description

Taking over Brixton House this Friday, The Really Irish? House Party is a celebratory event dedicated to mixed-heritage Irish voices and communities who have often felt unseen within traditional celebrations. Created by Wake The Beast and hosted by award winner broadcaster and bestselling author Emma Dabiri attendees can expect an evening of live music, DJs, spoken word, storytelling and conversations exploring migration, mixed heritage and diasporic Irishness.

Who the event is for

Created for diasporic communities, blended identities and anyone curious about the changing story of Irishness, the event captures the warmth, intimacy and energy of a great Irish house gathering in the heart of Brixton.

The Really Irish? House Party is about opening up the idea of Irishness and celebrating the richness, complexity and humour of modern identity. Through music, storytelling and conversation, we want to create a space where people, particularly those from mixed heritage, diaspora and underrepresented backgrounds, can feel seen, heard and part of the story. At a time when conversations around belonging feel more important than ever, this event is an invitation to come together, share experiences and celebrate the many ways of being Irish.”
