Description
The project Tejiendo Nuestro Futuro aims to be a platform to capture and preserve the stories of older generations in the Latinx community in London, focusing on the 1970s to the 1990s. This documentary seeks to rescue the testimonies of those who, through activism, built solidarity networks during a period of significant political and personal challenges. In a context marked by discrimination, the struggle for rights, and the search for identity, these testimonies reveal how the Latinx community came together to face adversity and create a positive impact on the lives of many immigrants.
The purpose is to honour and archive the experiences of those pioneers who planted the seeds of political and social work within our community, creating a legacy of resistance and empowerment. Through these stories, the project not only seeks to preserve historical memory but also to inspire new generations to continue fighting for the recognition and visibility of Latinos in the UK. Tejiendo Nuestro Futuro invites reflection and action, fostering unity and commitment to causes that still require attention in the present.
