A Book Club hosted by book influencer John-Paul Kunrunmi and in partnership with PRIM, a digital platform for Black storytelling. The discussion will centre on the representation of Black men in books and the importance of a nuanced and non-reductive perspective on Black manhood.

The Host
John-Paul aka @jpreads on TikTok is a Black Book enthusiast with a particular love for Literary Fiction, Thrillers, and Romance. He sets out to put more Black and Queer reads from authors around the world on people’s bookshelves and brings to their attention authors that mainstream media may not always pay attention to. He plans to continue to encourage everyone to diversify their bookshelves and enjoy stories from perspectives that they may have never considered before.
PRIM is a unique platform offering book clubs, events, art installations and digital archiving dedicated to sharing the variety of ways people of Black ancestry share their stories.

This event features as part of a one-day launch to celebrate the publication of Revolutionary Acts: Love and Brotherhood in Black Gay Britain. An astonishing work of social history which captures Black gay Britain in inimitable detail.
