Description

In this new book, Roger walks readers through many ways to think about poems and poetry taking the most complexed of poetry ideas and simplifying them to be accessible to the intermediate writer. With much of its content being battle tested in years of workshops and in conversations with other poets. Roger Robinson’s On Poetry is an invaluable glimpse into decades of poetic thought and teaching, full of prompts, poetics, practice and principles of structure, a must-have for all lovers of poetry. Yomi Sode will join Roger to discuss how his book has managed to transcend just poets but can be transferable to all artists of all disciplines, sharing some insights into his own craft on the way.
On Poetry
Often intermediate writers get ignored by the concentration on beginners. The jump from intermediate to advanced can often be tricky, requiring new modes of artistic and poetic thought. On Poetry has been written for intermediate writers who besides general practice need to start thinking about poetry in different ways. On Poetry helps to model and clarify specific ways of thinking necessary for the creation of poetry, a topic not often covered by poetry books that tend to focus on the nuts and bolts of craft.
