Brixton House is announcing today that Gbolahan Obisesan is stepping down from his role as Artistic Director and Joint CEO to pursue other creative opportunities. This will take effect from today to allow the Board to develop plans for a new direction. Joining in 2020 Gbolahan has contributed to the creation of an exciting opening offer for the new theatre and cultural hub in the heart of Brixton. With the award-winning Mugabe, My Dad & Me (UK Theatre Awards), Housemates Festival, Kabul Goes Pop and the more recent Alice in Wonderland (both Offie nominated) Gbolahan has platformed a wide range of artists and leaves having put into motion an exciting offer for 2023.
David Bryan, Chair of Brixton House said: ‘Gbolahan has made a distinctive contribution to the artistic identity of Brixton House. I and the Board wish him well for the future’.
