We have collaborated with theatre-makers Coney to open The Mixtape of Adventures, an interactive shop in Brixton Village. Hidden inside the hustle and bustle of the market stalls and shopfronts, our shop will reveal a space where customers can discover new adventures and play games for free.
Working with Coney, we have commissioned four micro-pieces to be designed and realised by game-makers and artists. Our four artists and game-makers are passionate about Brixton, its people, places, and stories. And, as part of the project, all artists will take part in three half-day workshops experimenting with Coney’s practice of blending game-making and theatre. The commissioned artists include Anne Siddons, Chloe Osborne, Decolonising the Archives, and Maz Hemming.
The Mixtape of Adventures interactive shop previously scheduled to open in summer 2020, is now postponed following the Government’s advice on COVID-19. However, the game-making commissions are taking place as the artists take on the challenge of creating art in a digital world.
