Known for bringing communities together to discover film, Bounce Cinema curate film shorts and feature films that resonate with love, family, relationships and the meaning of communities coming together.
The series opens with a touch of nostalgia with the popular classics, Love Jones (1997) and Set It Off (1996) and ends with an evening of film and poetry.
Bounce Cinema is an independent film company dedicated to building a better future for film. Through a dedicated programme of screenings, training and industry opportunities. Set It Off

The action-packed classic Set It Off (1996) delves into the lives of four inner-city women to bank robbery in Los Angeles, then they start mistrusting each other.
After being fired from her job as a bank teller, Frankie begins working at a janitorial service with her friends Tisean, a single mother; Cleo, a boisterous lesbian; and Stony, who is dealing with the recent death of her brother. The women are struggling with their finances, so they decide to start robbing banks. At first the group is successful, but they soon attract the attention of an obsessive detective. The film stars Jada Pinkett, Queen Latifah, Vivica A. Fox, and Kimberly Elise.
