Latin X Brixton Festival

Join us over 16-18 June for a festival of free events centering campaigning, allyship and Latinx led art.

My Uncle is Not Pablo Escobar began with conversations between The Advocacy Academy alumni and activists Valentina Andrade and Elizabeth Alvarado and Creative Tommy Ross Williams about theatre as a potent tool to amplify activist collective, LatinXcluded’s, campaigns for Latinx rights in the UK. My Uncle is Not Pablo Escobar exists not just as a show but also as a body of work in allyship, activism and grassroots community organising.

Latin X Brixton festival brings together vital grassroots organisations with exciting latinx artists in a weekend of sharing expertise and experiences.

All spaces are free, but booking workshops is imperative.

Join us in the bar after My Uncle Is Not Pablo Escobar on the 16th and 17th June for a party showcasing some of the best Latinx DJs in London.

Sunday 18 June : Fiesta del Pueblo; Community, Celebration and Conversations at The Advocacy Academy

On Sunday, The Advocacy Academy will host this intergenerational event as part of  Latin X Brixton Festival.

“We are incredibly excited to celebrate our various Latinx cultures and communities with you, through vibrant music, delicious food, discussions and art. There will be the opportunity to get creative and have fun, as well as hold space for an open discussion on the critical issues affecting our communities in the U.K and hear from Latinx campaigners on how to take action. We believe it’s important to have an intergenerational space for our community – we know our struggles for liberation have been divided as a community and so making this space as inclusive, intergenerational and open as possible is essential for us.” – The Advocacy Academy

15:00-19:00  Sunday 18th June

The Advocacy Academy Campus, SW9 8QA
