Description

By Richard Adetunji.

“It’s always been just Eman and Manny (Manny and Eman more like)”

Two sides to the same coin, from the moment they met, the two have been inseparable. That is until both their lives took a turn when Eman gets kicked out of school, in what turns out to be the beginning in a series of unfortunate events that eventually lands him in prison.

Manny’s life on the other hand appears to be right on track. However, for both boys, life is much more than what meets the eye. Over the course of letters written between them we examine the depths of their relationship and all the things left unsaid. Will their friendship stand the test of time?

EMMANUEL is a play about brotherhood, policed ambition and the power of second chances. Written by Richard Adetunji as part of the Royal Court Theatre’s Playwriting Group.

The reading will be one hour long with a 30 minute post-show Q&A.

Latecomers policy: Latecomers may enter in the first 10 minutes. After this point, there is no entry into the performance.
