Description
SIEGE Industries and NHS Blood & Transplant are thrilled to announce, “For The Love”, a unique cultural event at Brixton House on Sunday 26th January, to mark the opening of the new NHS blood donor centre in Brixton. This special event blends art, food, music, and a powerful purpose, in partnership with Black Eats LDN, Arts Meets Culture, Akanji Studios and Cultur.FM, shining a light on the need for more donors of Black heritage.
The NHS needs over 250 blood donations every day to meet the needs of patients with Sickle Cell, which is more common in people of Black heritage. However, only 3% of regular blood donors are of Black Heritage. The Brixton Donor Centre is a step toward closing that gap.
The day will feature food from Black Eats LDN, immersive art from Arts Meets Culture, and a panel discussion on blood donation in Black communities. Cultur.FM will be curating the music selection for the night, bringing together the best of Brixton’s diverse soundscape.
Expect an eclectic mix of soulful beats, hip-hop, R&B, and Afrobeat, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of South London.
Join us for an unforgettable day of music, culture, and community.
